Playground Equipment Stolen
Courtenay — A popular piece of playground equipment has been stolen for the second time in three years. The staff at J. Puddle Duck Daycare arrived to work Monday morning to notice that its kid’s favorite toy was missing. For the second time in three years a stainless steel tunnel was taken from the daycare’s play area. The piece of stainless is 25 years old and was donated to the facility by a local manufacture. The children say they are upset and are heart broken. The staff says they have had to explain to the children what happened and that stealing is wrong. The same stainless steel tunnel was stolen in April 2008, that time it was returned two days later, right after an A-News story aired on the theft. The Staff says they have contacted the RCMP and local scrap yards, but so far, no luck. The Staff hopes by sharing the stolen property with the people of the Comox Valley, someone may know what happened and can return it. The children say it would be a dream come true if the missing piece is returned back to where it belongs. Follow Steve Colterman on Twitter: www.twitter.com
